You are allowed to use live KVM migration to move guests between same rack KVM hypervisors as described in the Abiquo Wiki.
Sometimes, due to a really high load on the guest, the migration can take long and in some situations is desirable to speed up this migration even if there is a short outage on the guest side.
To turn a live migration to a non live migration, you just need to "suspend" the guest. This will speed up the migration as no more memory synchronization will be needed during the process. When the migration finishes, the process itself it will change the guest state to "running" automatically without need of interaction.
